Well, right now I will let you all know about my learning styles. If you were to ask me how I knew which are my best learning styles, I would tell you, I had a fantastic questionnaire. My best learning styles are linguistic and intrapersonal. Ranked second is my logical-mathematical and bodily kinesthetic. As for the third, they are musical and interpersonal. And finally, spatial-visual.
Although I don't fully understand what these learning styles meant, I could kind of make up their meanings. Example: Linguistic = By talking, Intrapersonal = By doing things by yourself etc. I believe this questionnaire works finely for anyone, as the results really matched with my learning styles, I believe. Except for that, that questionnaire could be slightly too personal, and some people might write down false information, but well, thats just another case. Anyway, I had better get back onto my home learning work now.

Home Learning
In Hwa Chong, there are two days allocated for home learning. Yes, thats right, I am just too excited for it that I am unable to sleep now even though its already very late at night. Those two days would be on next monday and tuesday. That would be two days from now. Theres already a schedule allocated for us on those two days.
Well, basically the time slot allocated to us is from 8am to 2pm. Every subject is allocated an hour, and between each subject is a break of half an hour, except for from 12pm to 1pm for us to have lunch. On each day, there are four subjects for us and we can also continue doing our home learning after 2pm as homework.
On the first day, we have Language Arts, Integrated Maths, Integrated Humanities and Infocomm Studies. As for language arts, we are to get onto a website to view the instructions on how to do our home learning. We were only told that there are many different topics for us to do on, depending on our best learning styles. As for Integrated Maths, we would have to check our school's SMB-Learning Board to receive the instructions on Sunday. As for Integrated Humanities, we have to do a group work that requires us to have our discussions on a google doc. Well, as for the Infocomm Studies, we merely have to work on a google form for us to put on a website we are supposed to make ourselves.
On the second day, we have Higher Chinese, Integrated Maths, Science and Malay Special Program. For our Chinese assignment, we were given a website to check the instructions. Well, we have to check the instructions on Intergrated Maths and Science on our school's SMB-Learning Board by Sunday. As for the Malay Special Program, it only includes those who are in the Malay Special Program. Fortunately for me, I do not participate in the Malay Special Program and I would spend one less hour on the second day. Anyway, its extremely late now and I am getting sleepy already so bye!

Tests...
During these recent weeks, it was tests, tests and guess what? More tests!!! There was the Maths test, Chinese test, etc. and most importantly, I had a shocking consecutive three tests today! They are the Integrated Humanities test, Science test and the Japanese Beginner's test. As for these tests, I either did not revise or only revised part of these subjects due to time constraints by homework and other activities.
For the Maths test and Chinese test, I already received my results since last week. Fortunate for me, I scored thirty out of forty for my Maths test, which is a perfect seventy-five percent for me to get an A1! I was quite surprised, as I merely spent half an hour revising Maths a day before the test and I got an A1. The questions were really challenging, however, as they composed of different kinds of symbols, and some other topics such as continued fractions, recurring decimals etc.
As for the Chinese test, I was really disappointed at my own results. I merely scored fifty-nine out of one hundred, which is a C5. I had expected myself to score at least a B3 as Chinese was one of my best subjects. I have to admit this though, the words, phrases etc. in the test were totally new to me as I had never encountered them before ever in my life. Well, I just encourage myself to keep going and and I would tell myself that having passed the test was not bad already as I had only spent an hour on revising Chinese.
I wouldn't want to talk about the other tests, as doing so would just depress me even further. About the Integrated Humanities test, Science test and the Japanese Beginner's test, I was rather impressed with how I fared for it. I knew how to do every single question in the first two tests, the Integrated Humanities and Science test, even though I did not revise for my Integrated Humanities test, and when I merely did some last-minute revision for my Science test as the teacher during a period of Chinese did not come (My Science teacher swopped two periods with my Chinese teacher and my Chinese teacher had three periods, although she didn't come for that one period).
As for the Japanese Beginner's test, it was held in the MOELC (Ministry of Education Language Centre) - Ghim Moh, the place I study Japanese, which is my third language. At first, I had expected it to be an extremely hard test as we were told that there were many topics to be tested on, such as some basic vocabulary, greetings etc. However, upon learning that the test would only last fifteen minutes, I felt better. This was because what I thought of was that, the test must be easy or else it wouldn't last that short. What I had expected was true. It was quite simple, except that I messed up some questions. One of them was for me to write out good-bye in Japanese. It is written as さようなら in japanese, but I wrote さょうなら. Another one was of listening comprehension where I was supposed to write めがね but I wrote ねがめ as I heard wrongly, according to what my other classmates say. Its getting rather late now so bye!

My Current CCA
Once again, hi! After having spent 3 weeks on CCA trials, and having opted for the CCAs I want, I got the results of the CCA posting last thursday. I am glad that I was posted to the Hwa Chong Robotics Club, as I had been in Robotics Club since my primary school days. The only CCAs I was interested in, was the Robotics Club, the EC3 Club and the Media Tech Club. I would go through them briefly for you readers.
The Robotics Club, which I was most interested in, is obviously about robots. In the Robotics Club, we build robots, program it etc. We are introduced to NXT, a kind of robot made by Lego. It involves some lego parts (Of course!) and those parts where you find in bionicles. You can also program the NXT to do certain work for you. In the Robotics Club trials, we had to build certain things which they asked us to build, and we were also tested on our Programming logic.
The EC3 Club, which is a club for IT, is a very sophiscated club. It is most probably about photo editting, designing websites, programming things etc. Why would I know that? It is because when I participated in the EC3 Club trials, we were giving a test and a few challenges that required us to have prior knowledge of IT, and we had to duplicate the google homepage, produce pictures based on certain topics etc.
The Media Tech Club should be the most complicated club. I think so because in the Media Tech Club trials, we had to present photos that we took ourselves and were given interviews about our knowledge in photography, videography etc. And other than that, we were also briefed that being in the Media Tech Club requires us to operate the auditorium etc.
If you were to ask me about my first Robotics session, I would admit to you that it was plain "slacking". We merely took a simple test about our programming skills for us to be grouped, and other than that we were introducing ourselves to the other levels in the Robotics Club, and they also introduced themselves to us. Everything was great, except for the fact that I forgot to take my pen and correction tape home after that session, and I will have to wait till the next session for me to retrieve my stationery. And, once again, good bye.

Letter to Dr. Nemus and Dr. Strauss
Dear Dr. Nemus and Dr. Strauss,
I wuld liek to run the riks of becumming smart fro two yaers becaus I want to be smart at leas once in my whoe lief. I want to be smart so I wuld maek moer fruends and I dont want to be dumb and slow. I aso want to haev a feeling of being smart. I aslo feel taht the main piont of becomingn smart is not jsut about the smartnes itsef, but it is aslo about being able to aceppted into the soceity, and being recoggnized as a normal person. Not jsut taht, but I aslo want to do something importtant for evryone. Other than that, I wuld be glad with waht I haev and waht I get.
Furthermore, I wuld like to show others that, people who are mentelly challenged can become smarter after working reely hard and that they culd get a high IQ level aslo. I belief this wuld make people not despise mentelly challenged people taht much anymore. And, I belief Algernon was like me, otherwise he wuldn't have undergone the operashun. Thanks for your attenttion.
Regards,
Charlie

About Me
Hi! I am Ming Chin and I am 13 this year. I study in Hwa Chong Institution and I am in class 1i2. I studied in Yew Tee Primary School during my primary school life and right now I am having my secondary school life and soon my junior college life in Hwa Chong. I am glad that I came to Hwa Chong, and not other elite schools as my primary schoolmates have told me about their schools -- which I would not focus on now..
Hwa Chong is a rather old school, as it has a history of 90+ years. Its clocktower is the most distinct feature in Hwa Chong as it has been there for a very long time. Our classroom is also very old, but it has been given a new coat of paint and it looks as good as new. I believe my class is very lucky as our classroom is one of the closest to the canteen.
Our form teacher, Mdm Lim, is a very patient and experienced teacher. If we did not manage to get what she said, she would gladly repeat if we ask her. Our music teacher, Mr Tan told us that Mdm Lim was his teacher during his secondary schooling days so I believe she must have alot of experience. I am glad you read my blog, and goodbye.
